Logo question

I'm thinking of getting a logo done for my site and one idea popped into my mind was to have an avatar with the "poker box" (the box that displays names of players+amount of money they have on table). The avatar would be greyed out with a question mark.

Now my friends said I would run into legal issues with poker rooms and can be sued for using the poker box. Just wanted to check with you guys to see if using this as a logo would be considered stealing?

So long as you don't just steal the design of a specific site I don't even see how this can possibly be an issue? Essentially it's just a small box with a name and a number in it.

yeah, just make a generic one that has some visual references to the boxes at the majors and you'll be fine afaict.

for what it's worth, i don't know that i've ever heard of a room going after an aff for using their imagery (not for positive uses, anyhow).

it wouldn't be stealing but don't give the poker room and excuse to go after you. The logo idea sounds good and just get it custom designed so it is unique and compliments your site
