    Default Link exchange questions

I am a new poker affiliate {3 months into} and have a few questions about exchanging links with another new site. I found another new site, not really competing with what I am trying to do! After contacting him, we agreed to write a couple of articles each, send them to each other and we'd post each others articles on our sites.

My question is: Where is the best place to include our sites address in the articles we write? How many times should it be included? Should it be a call to action, like "for best Omaha strategy visit [url]www.mysite" or just a line at the end of the article?

Also is a link to or from another newer site, probably with low traffic a bad thing? Will it hurt us more than help us? Or is any related link helpful?

I managed to get a few sign-ups and one deposit and a small commission from my depositor that were eaten away by the poker rooms fees my first month but nothing since--I add articles 3-4 times a week, but nothing seems to be clicking just yet---any ideas here?

Pick specific keyphrases that you want to target. For example, if you target "poker freerolls", then the article you write for the other site should be related to poker freeroll. The term "poker freerolls" should come up a few times in the article. It should be contained in headers (H tags) of the article if you can help it, and in the title of the article. Add one link back to your site on a "poker freeroll" anchor, perferably in the first praragraph in case the other webmaster uses an RSS feed. That way your link gets sent via the RSS channel too.

If you can have more than one link, then target more than one keyphrases, but don't cram all your links in the 1st paragraph. Just stick your main keyphrases there, and others later in the article. I'd say 1 link per 250 word is OK. If you over do it, it will look spammy.

The fact that he has a new site shouldn't really matter as long as the site is rich in information, and relevant to yours. If his site ia a banner farm with little unique content, then avoid it.

When I post his article on my site, what is the best place to insert it? Should it be on my main landing page, like my home page or where the article fits? If his article is about FLHE, then on my FLHE page? Does it matter where it is placed?

All this are your decisions: where to include the article, how many times you place your link.
However a link at the end of your article ( pointing to your site ) is enough. If a user liked the article he will click the link. 10 link will only get one visitor. If you are going for seo 2 - 4 links in the article will also be enough.
