Default How much content is needed?

My site has been up and running since Nov. of 2010. I have read where it takes up to 6 months or so before Google will trust your site and its content.

My question is: How much content is really needed? When your site is crawled does the SE actually count the words? The number of articles? Is it based on 100kb of content, 200kb or more? Number of pages? What?

Right now I sit on about 70 articles and about 500kb of content, I don't have a lot of pictures so that is a pretty accurate number!

I add 2-3 articles a week, some are 200-300 words, some are 900+ should all articles be the same length or should I stick with the 500 word avg. for all?

I use an average of 3-4 banners per page, and I try to connect them with the articles I write--Is that too many?

Most of my links to the rooms are simple text in the articles, is there a limit on how many I should use?

I have so many questions, too many for one post!

There is no magic number as far as how long it will take Google to trust your site. It could be 3 months, 12 months or 5 years. Likewise, how much content you have isn't much of a factor either. Content simply allows you to keep visitors entertained and returning while targeting more words in the search results.

What I'd suggest doing is just making sure your basic on site SEO is decent (not over done, but decent). Simple stuff like title meta, h1 tags, and content using the keywords you want to target, keeping your navigation menu from getting cluttered by just focusing on the most important pages, some of which are big keyword pages. From there don't worry about SEO much.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

Start figuring out ways you can build traffic to the site now. Write for other sites, use signature links, ad entries to Wikipedia (note: if you don't have a Wikipedia account wait on doing this and get active with them adding value to web first, and then in exchange drop your own references on occasions).

Use social network sites, facebook likes etc. Find niche communities, make friends, and run contests for them or w/e. Get them to help spread word too.

During the early stages of building a site, do what you think is best for Google and then don't worry so much about it. Rankings come in time, and if you focus on having the best content (and/or features) possible to the point it wows your visitors and they're thankful to have found your site in time everything gets easy.
