Default PokerStars are paying me nowhere near the 20% they promised!

Hello- I am new to all this, so please be patient! Several months ago I signed up a French afiliate to Stars on a '20% revenue-share' basis. I realised there would be certain 'mysterious' deductions for promotions etc, but figured I would still make at least 15% or similar. Anyway, long story short, the player in question has subsequently racked up just under 5000 SNGs at an average buy-in of $5. I figure Stars to have made at least $2500 from my recommendation, and yet the amount they have paid me so far on the basis of my referral stands at under $100. They are completely unhelpful when I email them questioning this, or asking for a more detailed breakdown as to why my payments are so small! Can any more experience afiliates help me out with what's going on here? Is this normal? Am I essentailly paying the full 'new player sign up bonus' out of my own 'revenue-share' pocket? Can I expect things to improve in future? I am crushingly disappointed and have held off bringing the rest of my 'stable' of students/stakees over to Stars as the business-model I had factored in has nowhere near come close to being realised. Thx, Marv

No. Stars are known for treating affiliates like shit. Go with another program, or live with poor stats, support and earnings.

Thanks Newjabber- I hadn't realised that...do you (or anyone else) have an idea of how much (percentage-wise) Stars 'revenue share' deal actually translates to (apprximately) over the long term? Also, any view on whehter Party Poker's scheme is markedly better? Thx, Marv

Yeah do not send Stars good players like this. Its not worth it for you. Agreed on what Newjabber said. Stars will screw you - they always have.

I wouldn´t focus so much on the sites specific listed deals. Go with a brand that you personally like and trust. A reliable brand that you would want to work with long term. Contact your personal top 5 sites and find out what the managers are like. If you have a solid site and traffic, then you can work out a custom deal. cpa, mrg, or monthly fee etc.

It is easy to get a 80% deal somewhere, but will the site or affiliate program be around in a year, and will the tracking be reliable!

The problem with promoting any French affiliate site is that they have to take a ton of money out for taxes because of their gaming law. Just be glad that you're at least making some money promoting to french players...

Stars actually announced a few weeks ago that they are considering quitting the French market because the taxes are so high.
