Default Toughts for a new site, kinda new on this industry.

Hello. I live in Brazil and I am planning to open a new website to cover all Poker Sites around. I think its still a good time to do it in my country, cause theres a LOT of players around here.

I already have a blog with a few signups under my Pokerstars banner, I didnt even reach the minimum to change to Revenue Share, actually, I dont even know if its worth, since I tried to find answers about their revenue % and it looks like its small. My 1st question: Is it worth?

Well, I am planning to promote the smaller sites aswell, since they have better percentages.

I was thinking to create the website with Joomla, not Wordpress, because almost Poker Affiliates I see are made on WP and looks the same. Yea, I have no idea how to create a site with Joomla, which brings me to my second question: How hard is it to make a website using templates? If its too hard for a random, how much would it cost?

I dont want to make anything hard, a simple site with reviews, some content of poker (im kinda good on this), strategy, etc. I want it to be very simple to update, like put some news, extra content, etc, being able to do it by myself.

I dont know anyone from this business. I read kinda lot and I find out that networking is a real good thing. Actually, I have no idea what I could offer to an expert affiliate, besides being a sub affiliate maybe.

So, what are you guys thoughts about trying to do it? Do you think its worth?

PS: I cant think about a good name in Portuguese, do you think making an english name would be too bad? Ah, my english sux..

    Thanks

I have joomla and wordpress sites that I built myself.

To be honest. for a ton of reason I prefer joomla for big sites, but there could be some speed issue you must aware of. You will have to optimize the site to reduce the page load that I found higher than on any of my wordpress sites.

pm if you need more info

Wordpress is the platform of choice by many because it is so easy to use , update, and keep maintained for beginners. So its not a bad way to go and maybe a little template alterations can add some unique features and look to your site. Joomla def offers much more options but is a little more technical to use and may take a little long to get adjusted to. Either way best of luck with the new site(s).

I think its definitely still worth making a poker site, a lot of people around the world play poker I don't think poker will ever go away, too many people love playing it.
