Default What do you dislike (if anything) about being a poker affiliate?

    Hi guys

Question from someone new to the industry - what (if anything) do you dislike/find annoying about working in poker affiliate marketing? What are the main frustrations you find you have to deal with regularly?

    Cheers
    Andy

Mostly I've disliked being mobbed by models at bars and poker events when they hear that you're an affiliate. It's flattering at first but how many cheap and meaningless encounters are you supposed to put up with?

I can't stand having to justfiy and explain to people what I do for a living.

It's probably easier to older you are, but I think when you're 22 in the UK and everyone else's parents are happy their kids have got graduate jobs etc it's difficult to explain that you sit at home and make money.

This links in to motivation for me too. Having to prove to everyone what you're doing can get in the way of actual work.

I hate dealing with idiots (webmasters that take links down without notice, annoying AMs)
I hate explaining what I'm doing for a living especially to older people.
    But that's it

^^ Agreed Bill - Affiliating is an excellent way to get babes.

We all create our spider web of affiliate links and hope to catch a cougar or a gold digger one day.

My babe magnet must not be working yet, because when I tell one I'm an affiliate, I get an awkward stare.

    Kinda like this....

Nope, it doesn't get any easier if you're older...it's always fun talking with other parents at my kid's preschool and having to discuss what I do. If I try to give broad general answers ("I own a small online marketing company") they probably walk away thinking I'm peddling porn.

That's funny, I'm pretty sure the other parents at my kids school who I casually talk to think the same thing. Even worse though is when you say "poker affiliate" and some dumb ass has to go into a 10 minute story about a bad beat or talk about the WSOP episode they just watched on ESPN. Like you, I've learned to just say "online marketing".
