Machino Just some gentle advice. If you have never played poker then you are seriously going to struggle to write stuff for a website that is ever going to be able to compete for visitors, and if it does get visitors they're likely to spot a mile away that it's not been put together by someone who's advice they can trust. You just have too much competition (who know exactly what they're talking about) to even get close.

Sorry it's negative, but realising this could save you a lot of time and grief.

If you want to know what players look for in a review you only need to look at those already published on many popular poker websites. You can pm me for a few examples if you don't know how to find them + there are many members here who have excellent review structures on their sites.(I'm not one of them - but that's because I hate writing room reviews and can't see the point of competing against other webmasters in an area that's been done over and over and over - and better than I could do it.

That said, there are always angles to find where you might be able to improve on what's been done before - but if you don't know the subject in depth it's very hard (but not impossible) to find them.

But the real advice is ' write about something you know'...or at least be prepared to pay someone who does know good money to write them for you.

Totally agree, hard to write a good review if you do not know much about what you are writing about. When I write a review I always play at the site a little so I can give a true review on what I like and what I don't. Advice would be to at least open a play account at the poker sites you want to write a review about to learn more about the site. While playing for fun is not optimal, it is a good start.

Completely agree with this. There are more reviews out there than anyone could possibly read and many of them are written by people who really know what they are taking about.

I wouldn't even bother trying if you don't play poker - not attempting to be negative or putting you off working on your site but it's just not going to work, and will be really obvious to anyone reading that you don't know what you're talking about. You'd be much better off paying someone to do them for you. Otherwise you'll end up with really short reviews that won't convert.
