I am probably focusing on the wrong thing but I liked the pirate in the first one. Second one looks really good and authentic IMO.
Huge improvement in my opinion.
The 1st one my eyes don't know where they are going and it's a bit "in your face"
The new one is nice and easy on the eye and much more professional looking plus easy to navigate.
My only very slight negative point, but this is just me:
The text may be slightly too light, where as the bold brown for the Affiliate link looks excellent in contrast to the background.

The first one screams geocities, the 2nd one is much nicer looking, well done!
Although I think it needs something more, perhaps a better call to action or a clearer reason why I, as a visitor, will want to remain and start clicking.

I would take off the test version from server asap, before google starts indexing your content. Even if you don't have it submitted to be indexed, the link here can ruin a lot of work if Google follows it.
