    Default Should I promote Pokerstars.com ?

    Hi,

I am new member working on launching my website in few weeks and willing to learn a lot about this new business.

I will operate in a developing country where online poker is still new but could have a big potential.

My problem is the following :
    - Most of the players in my country only know about pokerstars, others brands are almost completely unknowns. I am kind of sure that if I offer different options 90% of my players will choose pokerstars
    - After few days of research, I heard that pokerstars is closing affiliate accounts - I also heard that the deals offered to affiliate are not really interesting compared to the competition
    - I know that pokerstars is great to retain players - but I think that the level of my player pool is extremely weak. I don't expect to be able to affiliate on the short run huge winning players able to generate a lot of revenue. For example : players looking for achieving the highest VIP statut (Super Nova Elite)
    - As a complete beginner in this industry - I won't have any power to negociate anything directly with the pokerrooms.

What would you do in my situation ? As a poker player myself I don't want to promote "shaddy" poker websites.

If you truly care to offer players the best options, Stars deserves to be on anyone's list - just focus the brunt of your efforts on working with a couple other options that are also good for players, but better for you as an affiliate, as well.
Buying: sites with traffic/earnings, also premium .coms - PM Me Offers

Yes I have the same opinion - I just want to make sure that there isn't any affiliate facing major problem working with Stars

i think there is more money to be made with other sites like titanpoker , betsson , betsafe , williamhill , betway etc. all pretty big and safe.

it is not really work thinking about teh smaller shady ones , maybe they work out for some time but my experience is that sooner or later problems come no payments delays so on .

I agree with thomas, however the real answer to your question is you can't guess you need to test which is the best offer and conversion for your market and visitors

I would still promote them as long as they have an affiliate program and the company is still reputable.

Do they still offer affiliate program? I though they do not rely on affiliates to bring players in, their advertising strategy is different.

From a player's standpoint, PokerStars probably has the toughest competition. This should provide an opportunity to promote other sites. I basically never play on Stars even though this option is available to me (sorry US folks not rubbing it in.) Then again I don't play online tournaments, which probably has a lot to do with it.

Yes, pokerstarspartners.com is the affiliate program.

IMO - you may negotiate with an affiliate program even if you are beginner in this industry, if for example if you have a good quality of traffic and you can prove this.
