    Question Best way to Promote?

    Hi all,

Sheldon Katz here, have been browsing the forums anonymously for a couple weeks; this is my first post.

Been working in online marketing for about 10 years, but am new to iGaming, and had a couple questions about best practices.

I'm working on a project (which I don't think I can post here? I'm not sure so won't risk it) and am looking for affiliates to work with to promote it.

I guess I actually have a couple of questions:

What's the best way to recruit iGaming affiliates (and best place to do it?) to become affiliate partners?
How do iGaming affiliates feel about revShare deals in Bitcoin? Haven't seen it mentioned much here.
How do people feel about proprietary back-end systems?

Thanks everyone, appreciate the help in advance!
    Sheldon

Welcome Sheldon. I'd be interested in hearing about what you've got planned too.

I for one am not so keen on rev share (see the pokerstars thread for the latest reason why), but at the same time understand start-ups can't afford the cost of a good CPA scheme at launch unless they have serious backing.

I'm not keen on the Betcoin scheme where you receive an enhanced rev share deal to start which diminishes over time and ends after 18 months. Although if that was somehow tweaked so if the player was still active at the end of the term a 'buy-out' of perhaps Xmonths affiliate revenue for that player was payable I'd be a lot more enthusiastic about sending high volume players to that site. It encourages you to target easier rec players who will burn out by the time the rev share deal is finished as that scheme stands atm. It also isn't ideal for community based affiliates who want a longer term relationship with managed special deals / leagues for their own players.

At the end of the day though btc gaming is still in it's infancy and if you provide a good player experience, an honest system (personally I would like to see the btc protocol used so that proof of liquidity is public) and a decent affiliate scheme then you will attract affiliates. They will probably all try to negotiate their own deals after a few successful months anyway.

As for the proprietary backend, as long as it works then that's fine by me. Most affiliates will periodically test the system to check it's working as intended and most of the off the shelf solutions are pretty awful anyway.

As for attracting affiliates, tell people here and at GPWA about it and try and get onto the websites of whoever ranks for bitcoin casino (or whatever) and affiliates will be contacting you (there's not an awful lot of choice atm). You could also try someone like XL Media but I'm not sure they deal with btc. Maybe Jeremy or someone else here can help you better with that question.

    Hi, I'm new here also.

I got 2 people to sign up for SwCpoker using my username (same as this username) I've noticed I was getting paid in bitcoin for referring people and now excited to referrer more.

I'm joining this forum to learn from some pro's.

Commenting on "neteller accepting bitcoin" articles. Saying: Why convert bitcoin for poker when you can play at SwC instead. using my referral link

any other quick tips you might have?

First of all Affiliate Program should be honest and must offer a realistic statics for its affiliates (without player shaving, black cross-promo, etc); without reducing of income depending of Nr of new players per a specified period (so called Dormant Acc. Policy); must answer to the affiliates requests/questions as soon as possible (it is desired in not more than 24 hours - without holidays), and not least they must pay on time.

It's always funny when they can't even spell their fake location correctly.
