    Default videos and such

    Hi you all.
Iīm a newcomer the pokerworld and is about to learn more. Iīm thinking about putting up my own page like many of you guys have. I have not yet read all the threads here so maybe there is already an answer to my question. Is it possible to incorporate videos from youtube to an affiliate-page (donīt know the right term ) or is that illegal in some way?
Maby a silly question but there it is
    Thank for any reply.

It shouldn't be illegal, as Youtube videos contain embed codes specifically for the purpose of you using them on your pages.

If the content of those videos is copyrighted, the owners of the material will go after Youtube to have the videos disabled/taken down (i.e. it's pointless for them to go after YOU because the videos would still exist on Youtube and could be showing on other websites, so it makes more sense for them to get it at the source)

I'm actually not an affiliate like most others on this forum. I'm partnered up with Jeremy to produce PokerNations.com which is a social network aimed at poker enthusiasts.

So my strengths lie more in the member retention & engagement practices, rather than SEO, affiliate revenue and so forth. If you do inquire of other members here, I'd recommend being as specific as possible.

Your question to me was likely too generic to get much of a response. So if there's an area you want to improve upon, or are unfamiliar with, be as specific as you can, that will help others to help you.

    hi andersson, welcome to PAL!

im a new affiliate too, just got my 1st site up, my advice would be to pick a niche to target instead of having loads of sections to update each day.

niche = bonus site, poker news, strategy, beginners, rakeback, poker room reviews,.. so so many to choose from

keeping it simple and adding lots of content will get you off the ground.

oh and another thing make sure to purchase a proper domain and web hosting none of ther 'free' shit on offer.

any other questions im sure we can help

Ok, so I should not do a everything-in-one-page.. Where do I get the news from? How does it work with rewriting news from magazines and websites? Are these articles copywrited or is it ok to mix them up and use them? Or is it best to use the text and give up the sorce? Name, magazine and date?
Of all the things you listed above, which one do you people here is the best one to focus on?
Glad to be here with all you nice people

Ok, so I should not do a everything-in-one-page.. = well not for your first site, its just way too much to cope with at the beginning and your time would be best focused on one specific niche which you can rank high for IMO

Where do I get the news from? lots of poker websites offer latest news you would need to keep any eye on lots of sites and get the content up quickly - this is how most of the sites get their news content

How does it work with rewriting news from magazines and websites? Are these articles copywrited or is it ok to mix them up and use them? Or is it best to use the text and give up the sorce? Name, magazine and date? = you cant copy anyones work at all, though you can gather ideas from other articles and write them in your own words-or just buy content from members here who write

Of all the things you listed above, which one do you people here is the best one to focus on? = it depends on you and how often you can update the site, ur budget etc
