Unfortunately, their banking laws will have to change A TON for online poker to become popular. At the end of the day, they are a communist country who is still 10 years behind the rest of the world when it comes to E Commerce.

At the last company I worked at (a web based merchant) we tried to get our sites on the Internet in China. The biggest hurdle we ran into was that the Chinese (on average) simply don't feel comfortable using credit cards online. Plus the fact that we would have to open a bank account in a communist country and the Govt wanted a large sum of USD always in the account. We can assume the Chinese Govt would require the same of operators in our industry as well.

Until operators can deliver a product in a feasible fashion, affiliates will just have to wait till we can market to a HUGE, untapped player base.

About 2 years back we worked for a poker room who got their content translated into 7-8 languages- including simplified chinese. I clearly told them that they are wasting their money and there will be no fun of it, but they didn't care and got the translations done....and I never saw a chinese version of their website!

May be they are printing those chinese translations and making paper aeroplanes out of them LOL

    TonygPAS:
I hear there are some companies who can help to open a bank account in China, then you could accept to pay by debit card. You may have a try.

Alex every poker player and affiliate has been praying for the Chinese to take up texas holdem since the US gambling legislation
