Adwords and Gambling

Hi,

I would like to know is there any chance that a small fish can promote his site via AdWords?

I have heard that gambling links not allowed by the Google however I am seeing always some poker related AdWords ad.

What is the true?

yeah, it's allowed in the UK but I have also seen some PPC campaigns be very creative with their ads for US traffic. Some will advertise on gambling related keywords but provide a "service" or advertise an ebook or something and capture emails. They won't have any links to casinos or poker rooms but try to capture emails. From there they would market to the players via email.

I have tried to advertise ebooks and software on Adwords, and are still trying to get an ad accepted.

I think there may be some pretty different views on what constitutes a "gambling" ad depending on which person review your ad. I have seen obvious gambling ads run for a long time, while my ads has been rejected several times even though I had no links or references to pokerrooms.

I would suggest you to be at the safe side. If Google not allows gambling ads then better not. Don't risk your site for Search Engines Policies.

That's true that Gambling is accepted in UK but as a marketer I know you want to spread it more.

I have a gambling account for adwords - i am UK based and have passed their checks although it appears that others with similiar sites have not been successful even though they are UK based. Might be that the domain must be .co.uk too, not sure.

There is a couple of other european countrys allowed gambling adword accounts so may be worth looking into it for what countrys are allowed as it is not just UK.

To be honest though, after a months trial i decided to burn my money in the back yard as it was more fun.
