    Default DonkTheFlop.com Feedback

I started working on my site a few months ago while putting in 50 hour weeks at work. I have dedicated a lot of my free time to adding in new content and making adjustments to the site, but to this point have very little to show for my hard work. I would truly appreciate any suggestions or feedback that the members of the forum could provide. DonkTheFlop.com |

    Thanks

    Corey

First up, I'd have a look at doing some pretty solid work on your onsite SEO.

For starters, your title tag has no keywords in it. As far as Google is concerned, your site is about Donk the Flop and I'm guessing very few people search for those keywords. You need to decide what keywords you're looking to target and put a nice selection in your title tag.

Once you've done that take the same three keywords and re-write the main content on your home page liberally sprinkling them throughout.

Another point, I guess is just a personal thing but I feel the font is too big or too bold. Or maybe both. I just feel like I'm being shouted at which in turn makes me not want to read what you've written. My eyes just kind of glaze over it.

When it comes to your affiliate links, I actually struggled to find them (other than the ones down the left hand side of the page anyway!). I thought the images of the various poker rooms would be clickable and when I found they weren't, I actually had to do a fair bit of looking around until I found where I needed to be clicking.

Your calls of action need to be stronger: "Click here to play the freeroll at Full Tilt Poker"

They need to really stand out too - put them on a separate line rather than just in the middle of your text somewhere.

Just my two cents worth ...

Love the idea of adding extra value to your players with coaching, and assume you have the average player value vs time spent equation worked out favourably.

On a technical viewpoint the room names in your left column are cut in half for me in IE7.

From a visitor perspective I'm not a big fan of the immediate list of features... these get weaker / less relevant as we go. For me a smaller intro list, maybe with a graphic would be better here - I would also focus it on benefits to the players (bigger profits, improve your game et al) rather than simply a features list.

Judging by your intro you are focusing on a narrow segment here by assuming you visitors know about rakeback and what coaching involves. One suggestion is to provide a link for beginners to find out about these things, you would not want to lose potential customers who do not yet fully understand the poker terminology.

Since a lot of your potential customer base will already have accounts at bigger sites you might also want to focus on some 'recommended' alternatives... I'd prefer a smaller list with 'expert' opinion rather than the list of all the possible rooms.

Anyway, just my 2 HUF worth... best of luck with the site.
