Default Newbie! Check my site and be honest please!

    Hey guys!

    I am new here.
I created a website, offering free poker coaching.

I can wait 1 year to make some profit.
    Is that possible?

    What do you think?

Free Poker Coaching - Poker Staking

    Thanks in advance!

I think you will get better feedback if you write a bit about how you plan on developing the site

If you work hard on a site for 1 year it is almost impossible not to make money.

I think it will be much easier for you to earn money if you take steps to improve the spelling and grammar on the site. People generally don't trust sites with spelling errors, and you really need them to trust you in order to get them to sign up through your links.

    Thank you for your reply!

I am trying to reduce the grammar-spelling mistakes only to my posts! (I am Greek and I do my best on that).

The writers are English speakers and I am buying articles for the website.

Can you please tell me some spots with grammar-spelling leaks?

    Thanks again.

P.S. I have a web site in Greek language and I really hate it when there is a simple "," (comma) wrong!

I'm probably not the right person to give advice on spelling and grammar, since I am bad at it myself.

I think there are some "good" examples in this article: Playing The Pocket Aces – Part 2 | Poker-Scholarship.com.

Playing the Pocket Aces on the Board

Whatever is the flop, and whatever is your position; you need to defend your strong hand.

The amount of your continuation bet depends by many factors, such as the number of opponents and the texture of the flop, anyway you’ll make a bet between half size of the pot [which can give you a good chance of winning the pot, creating favorable odds for yourself (it only requires you to win one time in three to break even)] and the whole amount of the pot.

I have just read your review of Ultimate Bet, and I think you will really enjoy "On Writing Well" by Willian Zinsser. It didn't turn me into a great writer, but it certainly made me suck less

On Writing Well is a book I recommend pretty often too. But no book is going to make you into a great writer. Writing a lot will improve your writing though, and if you have some talent, it's like a knife. You can sharpen it.

    Wink

First of all, for a new site, I think it looks great (did you produce it on Weebly? It has a similar feel to some of their templates...). Very crisp design, and very appealing to the eye.

I certainly agree with the point that you should take a look over all of the writing. Mistakes like "im" will just kill all the positive energy you get from your design. If you're paying writers to create it for you, hold them to a standard!

Your rotating news banner is cool, but it would be even more eye-catching if it rotated itself (as opposed to requiring a click). You might also mix a poker room banner or two in there to increase your clicks / signups. Indeed, you're not overloaded with banners or promotions at all (a Carbon banner or two wouldn't hurt either...).

And finally, I love the comic. More! More! Very original.

Send me a PM if you'd like more clarity!

    Thank you Tom.

The website is a Wordpress template.
The rotating news banner is auto rotating. Maybe if you refresh it will work..! (I have to check it!)
I really like your idea about some adds in it.

About more banners... Please... I need a widget to handle them!!! That's why I don't have some of them.

    About the "im" thing...
He is a coach-writer and I am correcting all his articles but not his posts in his blog, because I want them to look more "real".
Obviously I have to do something with that!

Thank you again for your really valuable answer to my post!
