    Default New Skin

Hey guys, a friend of mine has recently started a new skin on the Cake network, Twobitpoker.com, and I will be doing most of the affiliate management for the site. I was hoping I could gather any tips or advice on gaining affiliates from actual affiliates as I imagine that is the best way to learn. Being a part of Cake network will limit us to the amount of rakeback/bonuses we can offer as I am sure you are all familiar with. Now, I have the time and motivation to personally deal with each affiliate individually, so any suggestions of creative ways in recruiting affiliates to promote us would be greatly appreciated. My thanks in advance.

Do you have any experience as an affiliate already?

If not, sit back and relax before you jump into this shark tank. There is tons and tons of good information, some great information, and a whole lot of our complaints and praises of various AM's, skins, networks, on just about every subject you could imagine in between right here at this forum.

What's even better is the thousands and thousands of posts here have mostly been made in the last year - so all the information is up to date for the most part.

You'll see who scammed us (a cake skin, a microgaming skin, probably a couple others), you'll see who spammed us (and probably isn't around anymore), and also the activities of guys like Brandon and Mark who run Aced and Sun poker, along with a few other AM's with smaller skins that are trusted around here and do well for it.

For the most part affiliates will be good to you if you a. promote your brand (pm jeremy for a good start) b. pay us on time c. pay players on time and d. provide us good communication and incentives.

It's not easy out there for new skins, especially if your hopes are pinned on US players. Welcome to PAL btw, I'm sure others will share their opinions here too. There is some members here with far better insight than me for sure.

    Thanks MJ,
I appreciate your rapid response. I do not have any experience as an affiliate so I have been trying to read up as much as possible and gain as much info as I can before actually delving into it. I have been enjoying the posts on PAL and you couldn't be more right as far as the relevant information found on it. I realize it will be tough to get started with a new skin, but I am eager to get my feet wet and would love to talk with anyone who is willing to help, mentor, or critique.

Just based on the owner's posts in this thread: Looking to hire an Affiliate manager for a New poker skin
I would say TwoBit is going to have a tough go. It takes a lot of things to make a new site successful and one of them is definitely money. You can't run a successful site on a shoe string budget especially when there is already tough competition among skins on the Cake network.
