    Default Very dumb question

Right now I'm trying to work on a template based website. If I want to add analytics to every page of the site for example, do I have to add the code to every single individual page or is there any way I can modify the pages all at once? What if I wanted to add as sitewide link, wouldn't trying to add the link to every page be very time consuming if the site was big?

Without having seen your site, I'm fairly sure that the easiest thing would be to change it to PHP and then slice it.

There a basic explanation of how to do it in this thread:

How are you implementing the template? Is it through CSS? Is it through a Content Management System? Are you just using some Web design tool like FrontPage?

If you are going to build up the site from scratch now and have it static (none cms) then go for .php exstension instead of .html/.htm.

Then instead of adding sidebar, footer etc on every page use a php include for this.

No you will need to add the code to a "non editable region" of the template. This will apply it to every page that uses the template, that way if you ever want to switch analytics program you can just edit one page.
