Profitable or growing niches

I want to get your thoughts on what growing markets there are out there that could be profitable. I am brain dead and dont know what to go after, so any suggestions no matter how strange would be appreciated

Also what good/ profitable affiliate and marketing programs are out there, I dont know much about anything but gambling and want to try something else that is less competitive.

I tend to try other things that are pretty much essentials that people won't scrimp and save on.

I've found online shops can go pretty well and using a dropship service makes it much easier so no stock to hold. I thought along the lines of baby's and specifically prams/pushchars.

Everyone new parent needs one and it's something that people spend a lot of money on without compromise.

I know it's difficult to come up with new stuff especially as all we see are cpa's and rev share deals but there so much out there.

I've got 1 shop that sells maps for walkers which makes about £6000 or $10,000 in the summer months with very little effort, all i need to do is post out some envelopes every day.

It's actually quite refreshing to "sell something" a real life product rather than just see clicks, conversions etc.

One thing thats hitting the UK right now (maybe we are behind the rest of the modern world) are breast enlargement pills, tablets instead of surgery for bigger titties has to be a great niche to be in?

Apart from that I know leads for loans and mortgages sell well.

Anything related to personal finance is a profitable niche and will likely continue to be a profitable niche.

I like retail niches for specific types of products, too. Ranking for individual product names can be a cinch.

Are you only interested in affiliate stuff, or are you planning to do Google Adsense and other kinds of contextual advertising too?

You may look at travel to Mexico, Hawaii, Dominican Republic etc via Apple Vacations aff program (not a sublink). They pay $72 per deal, with 120 day cookies. Apple is HUGE in that industry and tons of great exact match domains are still available.

The SEO in that industry is downright terrible, and for the most part I think you could dominate keywords with 1-3 pages of killer content per site. For example, look at keywords like Punta Cana All Inclusive Vacation, or Mexican Riviera Vacation Packages...the list is endless.

If you had a solid, generic all inclusive vacation site you could do it all in one place.

You don't have to travel to any of these places to be able to write about them. There's tons of info online you could use for research, and you could easily hire people (dirt cheap) via freelance webmaster sites to take unique pics for you. Could even hire writers from these places very easily as well. In the Mexican Riviera, minimum wage is something like $.50 and hour. They'd be stoked if you paid them $2 an hour.

Seriously I've been wanting to test this market for a long time, but so many projects going on I still don't have time. My guess is that there's big money to be made by someone with decent SEO skills.

What about mobile apps, there's a huge market right there now esp. with the iPad launch. Another rapidly growing sector are sites like groupon, or aggregates of these types of coupon sites. Finally take a look over Facebook's recent announcements about Open Graph some interesting opportunities there too. Lots going on right now.

Thanks for the post but Apple Vacations is down for days now. Already tried it on Friday and it's still down. Is that usual for a market "leader"?

I just watched some domains go for sick prices in specific industries about online degrees. Checking Google tool there are also high PPC and then looking at some of the sites ranking for some of these terms (great hard core, tons of professional article sites) i think there might be some money in that. I just checked it out quickly though because was like wtf seeing the prices a few sold for.

Online education is a hugely profitable niche, yes--I have some friends who do some stuff in that area.
