I own koelkast.org / 450K Match?

One of my tools picked up the domain KOELKAST.ORG as a target. I had no idea at the time what it meant but seen it was taken in .com, .info, .net, .me, .mobi. biz and a ton of other extensions so was like okay I'll bite.

Well anyways apparently this means fridge as in refrigerator in Dutch. I'm not sure if it has other meanings but there is a whole boat load of sites selling refrigerators in other extensions or one word modifier domains.

Keyword tool shows: 450,000 exact match, 1.22 million broad for this one word .org domain. It also shows 76 cent cost per click and near full bar for competition and stead search volume trends for the past year.

So anyways at this point I own this domain. I have no clue what to do with it or what it might be worth.

Can anyone here that speaks foreign languages fill me in to what I have here.

I only glanced at first pages but the .nl one looked nice and it seems most are using it for that purchase to sell refrigerators.

No idea how to price or use this one, any feedback appreciated.

I think that might be an inflated AdWords Tool search number.

Estibot has it at 111 exact match searches.

Probably true, because the word 'refrigerator' gets 450K exact searches, so it's hard to imagine a dutch word getting as much search volume as an English word.

Thanks cooldog. I can't help but think though If its a 111 search term why is advertiser competition so high? I just checked a few other sites too and advertiser competition is really heavy.

I'm not doubting that it is probably not a 450,000 exact match term truly as keyword tool is very unreliable, but would be very surprised if it is a low volume term that has that many people competing over low searches and has been registered in every extension (many using it).

Curious to here from any Dutch speakers their thoughts on the domain.

I agree, 111 seems too low and I'm sure it's much higher than that.

Might be a good domain to try and sell to one of the AdSense advertisers bidding on that keyword.

Edit: I think those 111 searches might be U.S. searches that Estibot shows.

Yeah that would make sense if US searches.

I ran in a different one I just purchased for $375 and estibot came $1,900 so at least I am up on estibot today and it was the gambling domain that put me ahead

Ok Im dutch, and indeed koelkast means fridge. It's the only word available to describe a fridge in the language. Only problem might be that dutch people often don't trust .org domains. We've had some scams from .org sites broadcasted on national news, and people are unfamiliar with it, they are only used to .nl, .com and .net.

Okay great thanks for feedback. I see now a year ago the .com sold a while back for over $2100 and was an odd # so must have been an auction. I'm probably in good shape on this even with what you mentioned with the .org not being known there. I have other things to do than try to figure out how to monetize a site for fridge in another language so will likely just hold on to it for now and come back to it later. If it gets traffic then different story might need to figure something out. But feel okay gamble now looking at it, i picked it up very cheap. thanks again.

I have no idea how to make money on documenting electronics online if you don't have your own web store, but hell I'll give you a hand if you were to need one in the future prop. I'm a dutch native that moves all over the world, and my writing in Dutch is very solid. Sounds like a fun project, and I love doing things that are out of the ordinary

Thanks Laurence I'll keep it in mind. Its one of those situations where its a decent opportunity but I have dozens of others ahead of it. I'll park it and sit on it a while see if it gets hits and then decide a plan for it down the road.
