Default Does clicking on your own adsense ads just once get u banned?

I know clicking on your own ads in adsense is against their policies, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows if you click on your own ads just once by mistake if that will get you banned? How lenient are they?

When I was in grade 11 I abused adsense on one of my websites to the point where I got banned. It took several months for them to catch on. That being said, if you click it by mistake you should be fine. If you are just looking to see if everything is working properly, use a friend's computer and you will be fine. The occasional click wont hurt, it is when you start getting repeats from the same IP then Google gets suspicious. Overall, I would say you're fine if you did it once and by accident.

If you got banned for accidental clicks, which I reckon 90% of adsense publishers have done at some point, then I think you would see a lot more webmasters complaining about having their adsense accounts shut down. I think their main priority would be going after webmasters who are clearly doing systematic clicking as that is affecting the profitability of their PPC advertisers which in turn could hurt google's bottom line. If you are really worried though you could always just tell google.

Lot's of webmasters do complain about their adsense accounts shut down for no reason though, John Chow included.

The have reasons for shutting down the accounts; they just don't explain everything in detail.

AdSense gives you the ability to test the ad placements so that you don't introduce any bad clicks into the stream. You have to log in to test the units, of course.

It would be unwise to try to figure out how often you can click on ads before getting caught.

If your account has been shut down there are alternative things to adnsense like chitika.com, adbrite, infolinks.

Or a better way is to go direct to publishers and get direct advertisements.
