Best eStore cms?

My mom and brother have been selling stuff on eBay for a while and have been making solid money. I don't want to say what they sell but basically they sell little things in large lots (bulk), and that's really the only way they can do it while making money.

eBay has been giving them trouble lately and removing their some of their listings though. I guess they want them to sell fewer products per lot, probably so eBay can make more money...idk.

So anyway, it has fallen to me to get them setup with a website (like everything else remotely computer related). I have little experience with this sort of thing though so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I am going to host this site on Godaddy and they have a few ecommence type scripts:

• nopCommerce
• osCommerce
• Pinnacle Cart
• ShopSite
• Zen Cart

Does anyone have any idea on which one of these is the best? This is really uncharted territory for me. I would imagine their store will only have around 50 different products, but they are all similar (like a store selling 50 kinds of chewing gum). They will be deleting listings and adding new ones on a weekly basis. Thanks in advance.

I have never run anything, but I have heard good things about Shopify.

Magento looks cool also and it looks like they have a 100% free option.

Take these recommendations with a grain of salt since I have used neither, but I have looked into these a bit in the past and had planned on going with Shopify if I ever pull the trigger.

It's a WP plugin. I have installed the simplified version and it was done in minutes.

Used OS commerce and swear by it.

Used on one website going back a few years and turned a million a year so it ain't that shabby imo

Chalkie, I have OS commerce installed and I was trying to make a sample product listing but when I try to upload the image its not working. When I hit the browse button nothing happens. Do I have to upload the images into one of the folders first?

Crikey it has been a while.

If i remember correctly the image should upload auto for you but like i say been a while

I will look at one i sort of half developed last year and see what i can remember for you.

Not sure whats the issue with yours, when you go to add image it should open up a file box to choose image off your computer.

No need to upload images first and there is no need to configure anything to allow this to happen.

Daft question, but you have made the category first?

Make category then add product in category.

I will have a look at it if you like FOC of course.
