Do you not think that literally every professional poker player, when he is interviewed or w/e seems so damn boring to listen to?
Even tom dwan, who is imo one of the most exciting/entertaining prospects of online/live poker, is really really dull and flat in his interviews.
I'm posting this thread, because I can see pokernews sites and tv shows are all part of a rising norm to promote poker in a more dynamicand entertaining way. But from what i can see, poker players are essentially very boring people and there is only so far you can interview and promote poker tournments/events or tv shows in that respect.
Even episode of HSP or LNP I find very boring. In fact, I would argue that Phil Hellmuth is by far my favroutie poekr character because he makes everything so much more interesting with his cocky persona and accosting nature at the table.
Every pokernews.com video i see is so redundant: a hot female news reporter interviewing some boring boring boring person.
Can no one find a way to make poker players more interesting or media-friendly as brands. Poker should be a game enveloping the young generation who largely use the internet - that is where the market is.
I've now lost track of the point of this thread. Leave a comment on anything above.
Oh ye, just so i don't offend anyone - I'm not saying if you play poker you are boring. I'm just saying tht every poker player in the tv/media and who appears on interviews is just really not that entertaiing to watch or listen to. For a game revolved around risking millions of dollrs in cash and massive cash prizes and promotions you'd have thought they'd be more exciting personalities..
