Poll: Help Me Decide On Logo

Recently Dean at XFactorCreative came up with this logo for us:




I've been playing around with it a bit, and wonder if removing some of the triangle line elements might help make the logo pop a bit more (i.e. there may be too many things going on in the first logo?). I think this version really helps the spade stand out.




I decided to mess around with this because I'm looking into having the logo added to hats, shirts, etc. And I'm trying to find something that will work well.

So please help me decide by voting in the poll and/or adding your own comments, thanks!

The reason I'm liking my redesign (and this is nothing against Dean, since he did an amazing job) is that I think the outer black triangle element takes away from the text.

And the inner black triangle element I think diminishes the spade globe, while removing that black element from it helps it to appear larger. So you get more of the poker elements of the logo popping, rather than the triangle elements which make me think of yield signs I guess?

I prefer #2 for a couple reasons. You mentioned putting the logo on shirts/hats etc... the simpler one will look much better on clothing. Also, the simplicity does make the spade and text stand out as you said. I definitely prefer it without the inner triangle.

The only thing I might fiddle with is adding back the outer triangle, with the thickness of it slightly thinner. This will add structure to the logo and take less away from the text. I'd have to see it though to be sure if this would help or not, but that's what I would want to look at at this point.
