Default Poll: Logo Design Contest Decision

    Hi everyone!

    Our current logo is:

We're closing in on the conclusion of our logo design contest over at:

99designs Logo For Poker Social Network $250 GUARANTEED!

You can view the below images larger at the contest page, plus see other entries as well.

    My personal favorite is:

    shoxMeister

This design is significantly different than what you typically see with most pokersites. I think it captures both the poker and the nations elements well, and also has the web 2.0 and social networking flavor added in.

And because of the uniqueness of the design, we could easily change the colors used while still retaining brand recognition easily. This is my choice, but I'm getting input from my business partners as well as looking to the community to help provide input as well.

    My two runner-ups would be:

    dbotdesign

    LizG

So please vote in the poll and also add any input you have by posting a reply, would love the input.

Redzart was nice, but not different enough to stand out and be as recognized for branding as Shoxmeisters version I believe.

Thanks for the input so far everyone. And I'm not adverse to hearing if you like a different design. My vision and appreciation isn't always going to be shared by everyone, so I value getting other opinions.

Out of all those, I gotta go with LizG. That one just seems to be a far more brandable logo, and tbh, looks a lot better on merchadise than the other 2. Second choice would be for Shox.

With LizG's design my issue is that there may be too much going on in the design, with the spade and the globe inside and the chip underneath and then the text in a semi-circle plus the full domain at the bottom (i.e. there's something to be said for a simple design, getting too complex with one can be worse than something nice n' easy)

While I do agree it looks nice on clothing, the semi-circle design of the text is going to make it more difficult to be read at first glance. This could be positive or negative.

It might make the viewer pay more attention in an attempt to decipher what is written. Or it could turn off the viewer from bothering to read something not written in a straight line.

I still feel that ShoxMeisters design is best for branding purposes, as far as standing out from the crowd and being unique. But I appreciate your input and we'll see if others feel the same.

My only issue with Shox's was that the design is just big and bulky, whereas the design by LizG seemed more organized and compact. While I like them both, this is what really turned me more towards the design by LizG.

I do agree that it's a flip when it comes to the text, however, I think more people would be quick to notice it than you think, and it wouldn't turn off as many people due to it being wrapped text.

Along with that, the design by LizG screams for more of an online and offline presence, whereas the one by Shox screams out as more of an online business only. So in that aspect, since PN is going to be primarily online, that's a good thing.

It's pretty much a flip between those 2 and your primary audience focus. Online or Off.

It was hard to narrow down the field, there were tons of great ideas and concepts coming at us.

But based on feedback here and other places I've been inquiring, the majority favorite is definetely Shoxmeisters.

I think some of the others might be too familiar-looking, in so much as they're competing with other poker/gambling logos with similar design elements.

The whole talk bubble idea was also given to me by Dean over at XFactorCreative, so have to give him credit for the concept that Shox took to town (I'm sure Dean would've done something equally as nice, at the time I had him go in a different direction though)

I expect to hear from most of my partners before the close of the contest, so we'll see if they share a strong viewpoint in one direction or another. Pretty confident Shox is taking this one down.

I voted for the Shox design because it is the cleanest and easiest to read. The chat bubbles are way cool. I do like Liz's design as well because the logo is compact and easy to apply to hats, shirts, etc. I'd still go with Shox though, as the design is just better than the others imo. Good luck!
