Default Good graphics card for casual gamer?

Not really wanting to spend more then $100 on a graphics card, considering I mostly just want decent graphics for older games, not the latest FPS games, etc. Plus I don't play games that much to justify spending hundreds on one.

So what would be the best graphics card to get? From the research I've done the ATI Radeon 6570/6670 look like good cards for my budget? What else is there?

I bought a new comp recently and when researching the graphics cards it turned out Nvidia was superior for most games, found sites like this useful for working out if an extra $50 was worth it.

Thanks for this as that's really a very useful page since they update it so often. I mostly stick with my late-2008 HP HDX notebook with an 18.6" screen (seriously, I could never go back now but notebooks this size are becoming quite rare) that does okay for newer games on modest settings. I would eventually like to get a decent desktop again but the world of video cards has passed me by the last few years. This list will come in handy some day.
