Default Mac Geeks - Lion vs. Snow Leopard

I got a new Ipad2 tonight and I am quite anxious to take the new iCloud for a spin so that my laptop, ipad, and phone all sync up. My fear though is upgrading the OS to Lion OS X 10.7.2. It looks like some people have had issues with Lion. I need to make sure my applications like photoshop CS3 still work smoothly.

Anyone else upgraded. What are your thoughts?

Feedback has been mixed and from what I understand take up isn't quite what Apple expected it to be.

Having said that, I upgraded a few weeks back mainly because of iCloud too and am still pretty sure that I'm not using it to its full potential. It takes getting used to and I'm not sure I like the idea of a Launchpad or the way search now operates but things seem to be working quicker (no proof of that) and I think FaceTime and iCloud probably make it just about worth the cash although I can see why some people are bit non-plussed by it.

I upgraded right way it came out and the only thing I really like is Mission Control. I usually have a lot of programs open, so it's good to be able to keep each one separate and then just switch to a blank desktop when I need room. the only bad thing about mission control is the fact that it freezes up on me when I accidentally double swipe on the mouse. (That's how you can switch between desktops)

As to your question about photoshop, I haven't had any issues with it at all. Neither with illustrator or any other adobe programs. I have either illustrator or photoshop open pretty much all the time and I haven't had any issues from using lion.

    Other features-----
I never use launch pad, and haven't really used any thing else. I probably just haven't noticed some of the new things that are better, but mission control is the only thing I use all the time.

Oh yea and I hated the fact they changed the way the scroll on the mouse works. They reversed it to match the iPad I guess, I had to change it back to the original control.

You can switch that around in your settings though. What really irritates me is that I've lost the ability to instantly scroll to the top of the screen with two fingers.

I'm not positive about this, but I think you may be able to get that working again with BetterTouchTool. I think it's 3 fingers though, not two.

I actually upgraded tonight and it's pretty seamless. I had to fix the opposite scrolling, which was pretty dumb imho, why would they even do that? But other than that everything seems to work just fine. The "Launch Pad" and "Mission Control" are pretty cool, not sure how much I'll use them myself. Overall though I am happy with the Lion OS and really just glad I will be able to access to the cloud.
