The media has way of sensationalizing things. I didn't process until just now but I think it's safe to assume they were reading Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. I guess can see it making sense in that regard. My formal education was a bit of a joke (expelled from several private schools) but I can't remember learning about slavery much until I was 13. I can see for sure showing the realities and thinking it was a good idea to cross enforce or whatever at a young age. It's such a fucked up part of our history and plenty of good can from it. So with that the teachers might have good intent. I was moved in school and the thing that kept me going was history from the few good teachers passionate about it. So kind of torn on that now thinking about it. What are teachers jobs, it's such a touchy topic these days. Are there jobs to teach robots and facts, or to inspire kids to want to learn. Plenty of differences of opinion on that. Anyways now thinking about this I sympathize with the teachers now if it was the case the intent was creative education. I'm not sure I have a strong position on that, but it seems far more likely that was the case, than a racists slipping propaganda on to a test given to eight year old.
