Default Looking for a cool part time job

    Yo everyone,

I was thinking about getting a part time job. My poker sites can't quite sustain me on their own so I've been doing a lot of article writing over the past year for supplemental income.

It's been a great gig so far and has taught me many things and it pays way better than any part time job ever could but...

I'd kind of like to get a cool part time job. The money would be dependable and it'd get me by. I wouldn't mind waking up and going somewhere every morning, believe it or not. I'd also like to meet new people. I'm dying to go somewhere other than the bars with my same friends. That's the main thing. A job where I can potentially meet cool people.

My situation right now is perfect for a part time job. I'm finished with college, have super low living expenses and rent a room out of a pretty nice house. Yea, I could go the corporate route but internet marketing is my long term thing. I'd just like to get a cool part time job and make a little extra money on the side.

Got any ideas for cool part time jobs?

I can be pretty picky because this isn't a necessary thing.

    Here's some quick brainstorm ideas:

    Life guard
    Valet
    Coffeee Shop
    Nude Art School Model (JK)
Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

I've heard valet is cool, I know one newbie affiliate around here was a valet for a while, maybe he'll chime in.

haha Mike are you talking about JohnH?

I was a bouncer in CO for awhile, also worked at ski resorts and wakeboard camps which was fun. Bartender works too.

Got any particular skillsets outside of poker?

    Bartender/waiter

Not the most glamorous job, but the pay can be OK and you get to talk with tons of people. It also can really teach you a lot about people. You can sharpen your customer service skills, improve organization, have a social outlet and earn a bit of cash. Working for tips has the advantage of daily pay.

Tutoring or big brothering is also quite a cool job.

    Interesting ideas folks.

I think tutoring would be good too but I'm looking for more interaction with co-workers. Bartending sounds not the best, I've spent enough time at the bars to have to deal with that - plus the shitty hours would totally ruin my affiliating and gym schedule.

Something in the mornings... Friend of mine has a couple of friends who work security in a hotel part time. They just wear suits and walk around and talk to people. That doesn't sound too bad.

My skill set? Well, I don't have any "skill sets" but I'm a great person to have in areas that require creativity, written/oral communication and project management. But I'm just looking for a part time job for a little while. Not a career.

    So we've got:

    Valet
    Life Guard
    Bartending
    Waiting
    Tutoring
    Bouncer
    Hotel Security
    Coffee Shop

I wish I didn't live in Kansas. Ski resorts would be great. But Kansas is dog shit so we don't have ski resorts, national parks, rivers, lakes, oceans, beaches or anything that would be remotely beautiful or fun.

What do you know about big brothering? I thought that was volunteer work.

I worked in pizza for a total of 6 years between management and delivery. Delivery money is very good and you should average about $15 per hour. But the downside is that you would work mostly nights.

Lol man that sucks to hear $15 an hour referred to as good money. Then again, I guess it's pretty cool we're able to feel that way.

Pizza would be good if I needed a job but this is more to meet people than to make money. That doesn't seem like a great way to pass the time and meet people.

    Hmmm....we shall see...

Dude if this is more to meet people grab some sales gig or work at a bar/club.

Cell phone sales or something would be good for that.

As MJ said these are great ways to meet people.

Working part-time usually doesn't pay well unless it is based off tips. Good luck!
