Who started building sites at geocities?

They're quitting today, and take thousends of sites with them. A piece of internet history gone soon. Who didn't build awfull sites with page counters like this one and full of yahoo banners.

When I was around 13 or so, we had a silly page there with friends - and it's still online LOL - but only for a few more hours, think i'm gonna make a backup - brings back memories!

Without geocities, I would've never been into web development or affiliating.
