Weihnachten

means Christmas right? I didnt want to use Christmas as not everyone celebrates it the same as everyone else so figure holiday would be a better choice

"Frohe Feiertage" is a common phrase that is used for Easter too.

But as it is related to Christmas I would choose "Frohe Weihnachten" or "Fröhliche Weihnachten".

You probably know best, since I'm not that familiar with the German culture. But wouldn't you use what you suggested specifically for "Merry Christmas" whereas if you want to talk about the Christmas period in general (holidays), you would use the first one?
