Holiday Traditions - Whats Yours

Growing up, and right on up till my dad died we cooked a hog every year for Christmas. I did skip it for a couple years after that, but I do the hogs now.

I generally start cooking it on Christmas Eve and have family and close friends over for a little party. Then on Christmas when it's done we eat and I give everyone that came enough Bar-B-Que to take home with them.

Cooking a whole hog is what's known round these parts as a real Bar-B-Que.

Now that sounds like a good time Skinski. Nothing is better than cooking for the entire family and sending people home with a great meal. I love dedicating an entire day to cooking a main dish. If only Turkey's could be as big as Pigs! lol

As of last year I stared a new tradition of cooking the meal, prime rib....

In another tradition I am starting this year, I am not working starting next Monday through New Years.

Okay, first I was just wondering if you had any good tips for cooking prime rib, my fiance is a pretty good cook and keeps hinting that that is what he wants for Xmas dinner...so since you did a trial and error last year I thought you might have some tips

Second...I wanna take a vacation til New Years...or better yet how about the kids don't get the vacation...these next 2 weeks are going to be hectic!
