Default Had HIV Test Today - First Time

Wow longest hour in waiting room of my entire life waiting for the results. Test was negative for both me and Tak. We were talking about what we'd do if one of us was really sick. Topic of HIV came up in conversation and she's telling me how she was tested b4 i came. I started feeling guilty that I've never been tested and it was growing on me a lot.

When I was younger I made a lot of mistakes in that area. I still figured the chances were low, because if I did have it it would be more likely I had had it for a very long time. I do have a lot of serious health conditions though so it didn't seem unlikely at the same time.

Anyways good news is after that long wait, we both seen each others negative result together and doctor wished us good luck about getting married and making babies.

Its a topic I've only thought a little about but everytime it scared me. Sure there is other health areas I need to consider now, but very happy to know I do not have HIV.

I took that test when I was 18 (amongst others) and had to wait two weeks for the results. I'll tell you what, you can go into that clinic 100% positive you have nothing and by the end of those two weeks, you're like..50/50 or so. It's the wait that gets to you. I won't go into details, but the rest of the tests made me sick for a while too...just nauseating. They do most of them by blood now but when I was tested for random stuff they didn't

The doctors were extremely polite and professional. It was all handled very well except at the end, I swear they intentionaelly slow rolled. Replaying it in my head I looked and was like "wow why do they look so serious". The others in the lab who had made eye contact several times or at least been willing to look in our directions suddenly stopped. I'm reading everyones body language and am like wow this sucks. We were last ones there and 10 minutes earlier they told us 10 more minutes so I knew the results they were processing were ours. The doctor looked super serious.

I looked at Tak and right away she said "I think not good", I said Why? she said "I see their eyes". ugh wtf i was noticing the same thing she was.

However when the doctor walked up to us, she let out like this unintentional very quick smile as if she was to gigle and quickly stopped.

Then the envelops.. serious it was like a television poker dealing pausing for dramatic effect before dealing the river. The envelop opens in slow motion she slides the paper out as if to give me the devastating news which I'm now ready for and then it says negative. Of course then there was this long pauses for Tak's envelop, I'm half out of my seat to walk to the door obvious because I already know she already tested negative before I came.

Odd thing is i felt more sick and drained after getting tested then i did before. Been dealing with a lot lately. After a problem with landlord we moved out of our house, storing our stuff at her moms with plans to stay at a hotel a few days till finding a new one. The same day we did this, her aunt died with us bed side total emotional rollercoaster with that one i can't even explain. I think then the nerves of the HIV test, i was just totally spent. I felt okay good I'm happy but felt very tired, got a headache and stomach not feeling well pretty quick. Can only take so much emotion in a weeks time frame, i do think doctor was good and I would go back there for something else, but i really could have done without the slow roll. Thinking back I'm 80% certain that is a game they all knowingly play together. Yes there is a chance coincidence but I'd need more to be convinced of that.

I went and had tests for STDs a few weeks ago.

I rang my doctor for the results and this is how he tells me:

"Ok, I'm looking at the results now. Well it looks like in the case of the Syphilis test.... it was ummm.... negative."

He did that for all of the results.

    What an arsehole.

I think i was 18 or 19 when i was tested. When I came in the doctor asked me was I nervous about the results. I told her no. She asked did I think about it over the past 2 weeks. I told not really, I thought about it once but that was it. Man was that doctor mad at me because i wasn't nervous about the results.

She told me "You should be"

In my head, I was like whatever. Just give me the results.

The reason I was like this because I made very few mistakes back then and when I did make mistakes it was with very safe people so I knew the results before I got them.

Ok, the doctor told me the results came back negative. I told her and my dad. I knew it. lol

Ever since then, I have been donating blood. You know, my little way of helping the world. Haven't seen those donate blood buses in awhile though. It's been like 8 months. I got to find one. I like helping Plus they have to test the blood. You get a phone call from them. There's only 2 things they will be telling you.

    1. Donate blood to help some kid
    2. well you know, the bad news.

    Cheers to a healthy life!

I had an HIV test recently. Fun 6 day waiting period. "If we don't call you in 6 days, you're good to go." I called them at day 5.

    Be careful out there!

Don't forget that the herp, hpv and probably some other things can be spread even with a condom. Watch who you play slappycakes with.
Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

Wow I can't even imagine if the wait time was a few hours compared to one hour.

What's the reason for the long delay?
