    Default 2009 goals

I think its about 2 years ago i started being more serious about being an affiliate and alot have happened since.
Many of you here have played a very big part in my learning process and i thank you all for that.
I have 10 solid sites now and in 2009 i wont be starting alot of new sites, but i will focus on these sites instead and add new uniq content and promotions.

My basic goal is 365 signups for 2009.

Apart from that i want to focus more on playing poker again. I also want to paint more, i havent made a painting in 2008.
I really enjoy painting but in 2008 i have worked really hard as an affiliate and havent taken enough time to relax.
The darkest hour is just before dawn

Great thread, it going to be a good year for many of us.

    My Goals for 2009:

    1) Clean up my largest site (working on now) and be sure every page has a clear intention, focus and purpose. Also cut back to promoting only sites I'd both personally play at and are profitable to be promote.

    2) Launch a new large website focusing on supporting pure gamblers in the Canadian market - build this site as second main sites.

    3) Start a larger poker site focused on EU market promoting mostly iPoker sites but also some Ongame, Entraction and Microgaming.

    4) Develop new and refocus existing partnerships in such a way it help increase income to affiliate programs we're weak on.

This is actually all more of the how to plan then the actual goal. The goal is for me to stop, stopping with just throwing up reviews and banners for specific sites and then seeing what they make - AND to really focus on making as much as possible at each room. Basically to pay more attention to rankings, conversions etc. If a room is not converting well for us because of traffic to take on a revenue share partner to work with us on building up tons of content on our main pages, as well as launching new sites that are likely to convert those types of visitors to that specific page.

Monetary goal: For affiliate earnings to exceed $30K in rev share per month consistently by years end (CPA / Sales Commission, Side work etc all excluded from this #).

    Personal Goals:

    1) Get whatever dental work I need done (my teeth are super sensitive to hot and cold and get all sorts of different problems on and off).

    2) Get a passport

    3) Play 20 live tournaments with $330+ buy in before WSOP - have $25K allocated for WSOP buy-ins for this ear and play at least 8 events.

    4) remain debt free through out the year.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

    You mean a new passport ? I didn't know you weren't American.

I think it will be hard to be in debt if you're raking in that much money. And I think you can exceed that goal of 30K honestly if you branch out to casino stuff. You did tell me you were a degenerate baller though so who knows, you might invest all this money in lap dances

EDIT: For dental work, I would avoid doing it in the US because it is so darn expensive. In France where I'm from originally it is dirt cheap, maybe Canada is cheaper as well ?

    Default 2009 Objectives

My year of 2008 was pretty bumpy i got started in poker coming from porn and a lot of difference, so my venture in this market only got me around 2K this year and maybe 300 players overall.

So for 2009 my objectives are:

1 - grow my Poker Portal at least 30 articles in what general poker strategy is concerned. Complete has much reviews and other "googlelable" content if possible in a daily rate.

2- activate the forum that is now mostly dead.

3- build at least 5 decent poker sites, that allow me to renew host and the other 33 domains ill have left asap

4- Manage to focus my efforts more and more on negotiating better deals and learn how to convert visitors - conversion focus i read somewhere i guess i need it since i get few players for a lot of unique visitors.

    On a personal level.

1- Get more quality time with my girl before she decides to cut my balls off

2- Help my family with $$$ since times are hard here everyday more and i need to start delivering all the hours i spend home instead of working a job like a "normal" person.

3- Start playing better poker leave the donkaments for good and focus on a cash game career were i can get to grow a bankroll.

Excellent thread... I've been thinking a lot about this. Pretty much I just have a few main goals, but I'm sure a ton of things will come up throughout the year that take me in different directions.

    1) Work more - I've been slacking off. If I don't work 40 hours a week for at least the first few months I might just off my self. Loads of affiliating, loads of writing, even some school work if I really have a ton of down time.

    2) Get in shape - I'm coming out of exercise-retirement and going to the gym 5 days a week. Also instead of eating a few pounds of meat everyday I'm gonna start cooking healthier.

    3) Sleep - I wanna get on a regular sleep schedule. I've been doing 36 hour days which feels great for my body but absolutely destroys my ability to do normal-people things. Once I'm sleeping on a regular basis I'm gonna try to cut things down to about 5 hours a night (maybe 7 on weekends) but we'll see how that all works out.

It's weird how something as arbitrary as a 'new year' can really make you evaluate your lifestyle, and make some changes. Why, for instance, didn't I get my ass in shape in October?

    Default my goals

My goals ..slightly less exciting than most as only a tiddler in the industry.

To keep on working away on my one existing site. - hence a tiddler
To start a new site -would that make me a minnow then or a tadpole?

    On a personal level

To stop teaching my son poker
To sell one of my boss's executive holiday homes as the bonus I would get could really help me with my poker site and probably get me a third site which in turn would help me on my way to leaving his company and giving me a better quality of life for me and my children.
    To give up smoking

    Great Posts here:

Some of my Goals for 2009.

    1. Get my staff of 2 programmers to finish off our 10 new sites and get them launched one at a time in a productive manner. Based on results, over a few months period decide if we can do more.

    2. Continue on to the next level of revenue to make this my retirement work!
Very much not there yet, but working on it.

    3. Back when i started affiliating i had also spend time rescuing cats from the harsh winters and terrible street life. At one point I had 16 cats i looked after and found some of them homes. So i stopped that for a while and feel real guilty about it. So now i would like to get back into it, and use 10% of my revenue to help as many stray cats I can find loving homes. I need equipment to trap them and then train them to be more social. It takes months and much money for vet bills.

    4. Spend more time with my girl and her family and enjoy life. Not just sit on comp and work day and night for 16 hours a day.

    5. Go to WSOP in 2009 have good time!!

    6. Watch the movie " The Secret" once a week to keep me motivated during down times.

    7. Write more productive content, and get to know all my players if possible. I personally now communicate with around 100-150 of them weekly. Would like to somehow increase this to reach most of them (1000-1200)

    8. Start a more USA site promotions since my traffic is mainly USA but i have no USA poker sites.

    9. Branch out to Bingo, Sports gaming, Backgammon, Rummy and build all new sites and get them done by 2009 years end.

    10. Work on my hobby site, based on my brothers chess life. Hes not alive now, died of Cancer, but has a book written on him. I would like to have this done in his honor, with all his games, life history for the world to see. Hes been to several countries and is well known worldly in chess circles.

    11. Try to get these 10 goals reached and feel happy about it!!

    12. Always think positive thoughts!!!

Sure there are more but brainstorm has ended!!
