Been getting to grips with my Mac now and I'm liking it. There are a few programs that I miss from Windows and I'm trying to avoid using Parallels. I miss PokerStove the most though definitely.

FWIW here are a few apps that I found that I find really useful:

TextExpander: Mac Typing Shortcut Utility Saves You Time!
Instead of typing out my full email addresses or usernames over and over again I can assign them to keystrokes like \ ' and my email adress will pop up. Saves lots of time and effort.

ClipMenu: A clipboard manager for Mac OS X - ClipMenu.com
If I've copied something and then copied another thing after that, I can press cmd + shift + v to go back and paste something from earlier on in the clipboard. Saves you from having to go back and re-copy stuff just to paste it again.

I probably explained that terribly so just go to the website to see how it works.

    MAMP: Mac, Apache, MySQL, PHP
View your website in your browser and have it parse all the PHP (amongst other things) without having to upload it to your host. It's useful for those times where you want to check your work but you dont want to upload it so everyone can see the mistakes or the work in progress. It also means that you can work offline (God forbid).

I think that's about it for the most useful apps. For anyone that gets a Mighty Mouse you really need Download MagicDriver Beta 5 - Supports unique and various gestures that Apple?s Magic Mouse Driver does not support. - Softpedia. For some reason the default maximum tracking speed is ridiculously slow.

Has anyone figured out why (and how to solve) the fact that htaccess files are invisible on a Mac? That almost drove me crazy before I figured out that was the case.

I've just been opening them up and editing them when I see them in Filezilla (Filezilla sees everything).

It's probably not the best solution, but I don't really edit htaccess files enough for it to be too much of a problem. The bigger problem I have is all those DS_store files.
