    Default Getting A Mac

My laptop was really starting to get on my tits the other day so I went ahead and bought a Macbook Pro. Should come through this Friday if the Royal Mail is on their toes. I've not used a Mac properly before so I'm probably going to be spending a day or 4 transferring stuff over and getting programs set up and sorted.

Are there any programs that I should really look out for as an affiliate? Anything you find useful that I should really be using? What's the fastest way to transfer 5GB of pornography?

Basically any tips, tricks and recommendation would really be appreciated.

My top tip would be to cancel the order!!

This is just a persoanl thing however, they look fantastic but that's about it. Looks aren't everything and they just don't seem to have what it takes for what I need.

Maybe I'm wrong totally but I'd only buy one as an ornament!!

The fastest way to transfer 5gb of porn is also the royal mail,

Very good decision. There's no excuse not to buy a Mac, except for the price maybe (but that should not be a problem for most Gambling affiliates anyway).

I suggest you get a copy of Parallels, which enables you to run an instance of Windows together with OSX. It's Windows 7 compatible and both Operation Systems run at the same time (you can even start a Windows program from your OSX Dock).

This way you can run any program, Win or Mac. AFAIK, it runs even the toughest games without problems.

I have been using my PowerBook G4 for over 4 years. Unfortunately I can't use parallels myself, as it only works on Intel driven Macs, but I am getting ready to buy a new 27'' iMac soon

In case you're one of those affiliates that don't make a dime, why not play free poker on my website PokerForFree.org. I am always on the hunt for new members, and if you contact me and mention PAL, I'll be more than happy to increase your initial bankroll a bit

I've heard nothing but good things about VMware Fusion 3, it allows you to run Windows from within the Mac environment, full drag and drop, shared folders, tons of customizations, etc.

I haven't used it but I know people that do and swear buy it. I think it's perfect for windows users making the switch because you will still be able to use all of your old software if you need to, access windows only programs, etc.

My next computer will probably be a Mac, tired of the BSOD (blue screen of death).

I ordered Parallels with my Macbook Pro but never even installed it. I use Dreamweaver now for all my web stuff, so the only time I've ever yearned for a Windows computer is to take screenshots of poker rooms (solved by PAS'/PAB's screenshot libraries), and to cash out from Aced.com (which Brandon handled for me). That's it.

One thing you probably will want to do is change the standard screenshot mechanism from .png (which come out as huge files) to .jpg. There's a guide here: 10.4: Change the default screenshot format - Mac OS X Hints

Besides that, enjoy I've been using my old Dell at home since I leave the Mac at work, and it makes me realize even more how much better the Mac is.

I'm a Microsoft developer (ASP.NET, SQL Server, etc.) and I use a Macbook Pro as my primary computer. Parallels rocks.

    Password mgmt: 1password
Video: VLC player (plays .wmv files, etc.) - sounds like you may need this...
Screenshots: TinyGrab - awesome screenshot application - with the press of a button, it takes a screenshot, uploads it to an image uploader site, and places the URL in your "clipboard" so you can just Command + V to share the URL. Also tosses a copy of the image on your desktop.

Also, get an external hard drive and setup Time Machine day 1.

Yep, I also use VLC player and have Time Machine set up with my external hard drive. I'll have to check out that TinyGrab program, sounds useful.

@Mike - do you test your sites in Internet Explorer? That is what I use parallels for.
If you need Casino Reviews, I probably have the one(s) you're looking for.

I have friends do that too, but that is a nice reason to have Parallels.
