Thanks for the links man, also I guess I will try ON Whey, I've read tons of great reviews about it.

I'm like 175lbs, I'm not a beginner to weights though. I used to train all the time until last year when I had a lot of family deaths so that just threw me off the wagon and I never got back on until now lol

So I'm going to be aiming for six good meals per day from now on, and supplements will be protein shake (ON Whey) and creatine. I think those are the two main ones so i'll stick with them and maybe throw in No-Xplode next month or so.

Shop around for the Whey. I've always found the best prices at Bulk Nutrition - Retail Nutritional Supplements, Bodybuilding and Fitness Articles, and Bulk Specialty Powders!. Don't buy anything from GNC lol.

No-explode is a creatine transport. From what I understand, you should be able to accomplish a similar result from straight creatine mono and something like grape juice.

There is a lot very good tips here, I saw in one of the reply's the mention of after workout drink.

I basically used to live in a gym, I am 5,10 and at one point got to 210 pounds with 7% body fat. Now I am about 170 hahahahha

Anyways the I really started to see great results once I started using dextrose in my post work out drink. What this does is extend the amount of time you have after you work to really super absorb protein, so you can have two very good meals and have it metabolized very well.

Now I can not remember the whole science behind but it has something to do with controlling your insulin levels, dextrose as part of the carbs in your post work out meal does something to extend that insulin spike?.

Now before starting this I did all right, I counted all the calories ate 7-8 times a day studied the science of all the work outs foods and supplements but one I started adding the dextrose to the after work meal, I started gaining MUSCLE like crazy. Kinda like once you have tuned your car to the point where you cant really doe anything else THEN you add the NOS.

Great post, I cant believe I stopped working out to think of all that money I spent on food and hours cooking and working out just to let it waist away...Fuck it.....IM going to the gym right now.

If you're really having troubles gaining muscle (and don't gain fat easily) I would recommend 7-8 meals a day, with some of those being gainer shakes.

I look at it as Diet is 95% of the battle... do some reading up on what foods are good to eat for carbs, protein and fats and load up on those foods.

As far as supplements I think it's good to be taking a multi vitamin and fish oil to start. Protein is probably a must if you are a hard gainer. And if you want some extra energy, pump, and help with gaining muscle try a pre workout NO supplement (pick something with not too much caffeine... NO Xplode, Shock Therapy, Black Powder, Super Pump 250)

You're right Adam. From what I've studied on the subject, the post workout insulin spike can be used to help get the protein to the muscles and recover faster (less lactic acid buildup).

You can use dextrose, but I've always just used a fruit packed post-workout shake. The bag of whole frozen strawberries is your friend

    PWO Shake:
    5 whole strawberries
    1 med-large banana
    2/3 cup of whole oats
2 scoops Vanilla ON 100% Whey
    Serving of creatine

Blend on high and enjoy Make sure not to add milk to your PWO shake. Whey is fast acting protein. When you add milk it effectively becomes a slower protein like casein.

Casein protein is good before bed. This used to be my nightly shake:

    1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons natty (natural) peanut butter
    2/3 cup whole oats
    2 scoops vanilla whey
    Ice

I'm not a big oatmeal person, so I like to add it to shakes uncooked. It blends well with the fruit shakes, but the peanut butter/milk shakes are much thicker.

One of the best tips I found was to get an inexpensive coffee bean grinder to turn the oats to powder. That helps a great deal.

Like KevinMc said, don't forget the fish oil caps (lots of them) and a good multivitamin.

Lots of chicken, brown rice, oats, tuna, eggs, beans, and green veggies too.

NoXplode is not really a creatine transport system. The product does contain creatine as part of a proprietary blend, but the amount contained in the product is nominal and not a sufficient dose.

I would recommend taking products like Peptibolic, SizeOn, InsuPro (or a quality whey + Karbolyn), Udo's Oil, Tribulus, and good multi-vitamin.

You're right man, my bad. I used to take Swole V2 and that's what I was thinking about. I've had so many friends take Noxplode that it just stuck in my mind.

I think it always depends on your goals/budget, but most people prefer SuperPump for a pre-workout product. I dont take anything pre any more and take Peptibolic (pre-digested amino acids) & Size On (creatine transport) intra-workout.

I recommend ISOFLEX WHEY ISOLATE - best tasting flavours I have ever tried. A bit expensive if not bought during a sale, but mixes super-easy and tastes great with just water. Check it out! Peanut Butter Chocolate and Chocolate Mint are awesome and Vanilla is great when mixed with fruit.

Also recommend a CASEIN WHEY PROTEIN before bed as it absorbs slowly and helps during sleep when the body goes into starvation mode. I use Chocolate Supreme from GOLD STANDARD OPTIMUM NUTRITION.

    Best of luck!
