Using a broken iPhone?

I saw this picture today and wondered how many people out there are using a broken iPhone? Just recently the top of my screen is pixilated and it's annoying. I'm wondering if I should replace the phone now or just use it till the next gen comes out. This however, is ridiculous...

Can't see the pic - Anyway 50% of my entire screen is smashed, but I can still (just about see) and it still works and this happened at LAC so just goes to show these things can last even when ruined! Will try and get a pic of it

Happened to me too. apple wants $200 to fix it. If its just the screen and the display below works you can get a new glass digitized screen on amazon for like $8

I have two friends with broken iphones (screens) and although the phones work fine, the guys look sad everytime they grab the phone to use it.

Wow Alex that's some serious damage from a small drop. I'll be interested to see what this $8 replacement screen looks like and how easy it is to install. I know the Apple store people wont touch the aftermarket stuff.

Be sure if you do buy one it is the digitized one, also be sure they include the tools as the screws are very small.

Pretty easy to change, just be careful as it is delicate.
