    Default Cake Tracking

    Hey guys, I'm not sure Cake is participating here but I surely can't post this query at PAP:

    I'm having real trust issues with Cake tracking - I recently added the tracking links on a new site and both myself and my partner clicked through several times to confirm a. tracker worked and b. download tracker worked.

    That site recieved 500 visits today, and that page was viewed 50 times....so I thought I might go check the tracker for the month.

    That new tracker shows 0 clicks 0 downloads - I've heard rumors of this stuff before but now I'm wondering what can be done about it?

    If it's something I'm doing wrong on my end, I'm all ears.

    I've had a few issues with Cake, but since we do rakeback we usually hear from them if they don't track right.. I'm sure we miss some, but Shanez is great at fixing issues.. I would run a few test signups to check it out though..

    Yep problem is I'm the same way, my rb signups never have a problem for some reason.....but I remember even when I first came at PAW I did two test signups, they didn't show up until Mitchell did a manual adjustment.

    There has to be something going on and even possibly from my end, I'll email Shanez but I hope maybe we get her here too

    At Cake poker there is an issue with affiliate tracking. I have spent a lot of time exchanging emails with the purpose of narrowing this problem down.

    I provided them evidence that players were not being tracked properly at which point they told me this;

    From time to time players who go through a certain link will not be tracked properly. This is rare but it does happen. The best way to avoid this is to make sure players know to use your sign-up code when they sign up through you.

    I had a download on the 27th. It was the only download on that tracker over a 3 month period and I knew the person who clicked and downloaded. They immediately signed up, but were only showed as a download, not a signup.

    Jump to a few weeks later, Cake poker is giving me the runaround saying this player was not tracked under any affiliate. They added the player under my account (about nov. 9th or so), but here is the issue...

    When they added him....my stats for that banner on the 27th of October went from 1 click, 1 download, 0 signups....to 1 click, 1 download, 1 signup.

    So in someway...their software knew when this player had signed up, which tracker he signed up under....but just forgot to add him. Somehow, their software remembered all of this info throughout the process of losing my player? They denied that this was the case until I showed them this;

    At first they claimed that the download and signup under this particular banner was added by them manually on that day in november. They didn't admitt there was an issue until I showed them that thread which sort of showed that the download already was visible on the 27th

    ^I remember this post, I just want to point out that I've now over the last six months have either created or had friends/partners creat FIVE accounts. 3 in the US (two dif states) and 1 in UK, 1 in Scotland.

    ALL FIVE failed to track, and in the last test the repeated click throughs didn't even show - I don't really know what to do about it because I'm not invested in this site outside of rakeback (where for some reason, my trackers NEVER fail).

    To be fair, I think I remember being told that this can happen with any affiliate links, not just cake.

    Since a lot of the bigger rooms don't show detailed stats with clicks and downloads, it's likely that other rooms are also having occasional issues, but nobody is able to figure it out unless they add something to their link that allows this.

    Yeah I'm goign to remind people to enable cookies on my pages. Seems silly but I knwo even my programmer Eric use to have them disabled.. I hate to put it, but it might be time to ask folks to delete cookies to make sure they are properly tracked to you. I know this is very controversial, but seems like the thing to do now days.

    I've never done that before, but all the major sites especially the Rakeback sites recommend this.. I've never wanted to be lumped into that category before, but the thought of losing 2-3 players a month per room because of this has me re-thinking this issue..

    Thoughts?

    Ridge, I removed that from my RakeVIP landing pages (they still exist on other PAS rakeback site, as that's their system).

    I've never lost a player to it, because they let me know when they've signed up I'd like to call it 100% accurate - and NOT neccassary.

    But anyways - back on topic why would 100% of my attempted trackings at Cake fail while 100% of my rakeback trackings didn't - I'm stumped!

    I have huge concerns about their tracking system also.

    To the point where i actually want to remove them, and may well do so.

    Default Cake Partnership

    Hello Guys,

    I am working with Justin and Shenaz as we speak to set up our partnership with Cake. I will e-mail them both personally today to try to expedite this. I e-mailed Shenaz over the weekend at Cake, but I received her "out of office" reply, so she may still be on maternity leave. I'll update you all as soon as I get a response.

    Thanks!
