There is no comparison possible between american football and rest of the world football.

What you say about the fans is rubbish, here we see also lots of homer simpsons with theire 1 litre beer glasses and don't say all fans are homer simpsons.

Also, for an American is difficult to understand soccer as they see sports as spectacle spectacle and more spectacle, here is different. The same happens here with baseball.

Rugby vs Amer Football vs Aus Football would be a better comparison and ... American is spectacoulous and Rugby is more a big balls sport.

Well its simple really ...

How can the game played over the pond in the US even be allowed to stand for a vote?

For one they have stolen the name from the great british invention of FOOTBALL - NOT soccer

For two when was the last time we had a proper well supported world cup for the "lets get dressed up in shoulder pads and wear tin hats brigade" ?

For three, American football is designed to fit around the tv stations commercial breaks - which by the way are more interesting!

For four how anyone could vote for a sport that is based on the most stupidly named teams i will never know!

Still, i see the vote is going well in our favour of course.
