Instant Messenger

I was just reading about the pop up private message. IDK if this would be pretty much the same, but I was thinking the other day that it would be cool if we had some sort instant messenger on here, like facebook has now. Not sure how hard it would be to add, but it would be pretty cool.

Those that have a facebook will know exactly what I mean. It would be very helpful for just quickly instant messaging people without having to worry about adding them to another IM client. Just a suggestion.

Is this possible? Pointless?

I find the facebook chat to be rather unreliable and slow and ... all those good things. It's an interesting idea tho...

We could always start a thread with people's IM addresses in them. That way we could hit each other up on Skype, MSN, Yahoo ... whatever people are using these days.

Yeah I'd rather see a new IM thread.. Live chat seems tacky to me.
