Forum Spammers...

Everyday there is a new forum spammer here with a link in his signature. I have reported countless of them.

Couldn't you disallow links in signatures for users <20 posts or <3 months registered?

Yea it's annoying the crap out of me too. I don't think there is a way to do it by post count in VB. Maybe I'll make a new usergroup for newbies that restricts signature links until they have get promoted to a registered user. Let me have a look

Some spammers include the links in the posts though. Having the one touch ban button back would make it a lot easier for us to clean that stuff up.

I am making a list of stuff for Tommy to do next week. I'll see if we can get the one touch ban back as well as limit signatures to only members with 30+ posts

I have the same problem on my forum but use a plugin called "Stop Spam Links". If any user with < 10 posts does make a post which include a link then the whole post is deleted.

I'm running an older version of VB than you but I would get there is a new version available.

Now, I hope the spammers don't try and do 30 posts in one day. Do you think that a 30 day or so membership length should be applied as well?

Banning spammers should be like voting. You should do it early and often!
