This isn't personally directed at Lenny just at everyone general. I'm wondering what you guys think about this or maybe PAL mode. I've seen this happen a few times where it wasn't my post. Someone post something and a short while later (couple hours, next or whatever) someone bumps it with a very similar post.
For example just now I posted this:
BLR Technologies Rigged Casino | Legends-Wager.dm
In two hours it already had 6 thumbs up - so don't think any issues with it.
A couple hours later Lenny posted this - as the very next post.
BLR Technologies Craps Is Rigged
Again not personal not too worried about it at all, but this seems this poor etiquette. If its a different related topic fine - but I don't think that's the case here. Was no need to jumped my spot.
What would happen if 10 people all waited seen what got thumbs up quickly and then all posted there articles there. We'd have an old style Digg.
Yes the intent of that section is to inform people of industry events not to benefit personally. However, I rushed to do that story the second it was confirmed by Michael, was already aware of it and following it but had a busy day. I dug up as much info as I could and even went to sportsbook.com and betonline.com to check if maybe their tables matched legends (they didn't but I wanted to report the story well). There is a benefit to my site getting a link, but there's also a benefit to the community they are now aware of the story, what's happening - some might want to write their own article about it, some might be interested in the knowledge, some might not care. In any case I don't think articles should be bumped with the same news. and not just saying this entirely because its me. I've seen it a couple other times where it was a different affiliate getting bumped and was like man that's not ideal that it's allowed. The news section gets cluttered and the site breaking the story to PAL first (as long as well written and dosen't have thumbs downs) should keep the spot. Honestly if it interests someone beyond what first article says - that person is going to Google.
