PAL Load Time + Stability Issues

Hey Guys,

I find the site is really slow lately, on top of crashing often, sometimes after every other refresh.

Additionally, it seems the site is only faster than 38% of sites

The number of request seems very high, 176 ?

Using this tool, I checked and all my sites beat PAL load times. I realize they are not the same type of site (I don't run a forum with many active users), but the margin of difference was pretty high.

I'm not sure this is hosting related, as I doubt Garner Hosting is the bottleneck here.

I know we have a VB forum guru on the boards, but maybe we need more cycles dedicated to optimizing performance.

I get a lot of errors lately. Either include errors or mysql errors. The mysql one seems to go once I hit the refresh button, but I get it once a day. Maybe that's causing it to lag.

Thanks J - Plus, I don't know if you really care, but this does affect SEO now. Especially when it's so far behind other sites.

I know the wibyia toolbar can cause issues; we removed it a year ago because of occasional load issues and a security problem they've had in the past.

VBSEO also can cause lag and - although they persistently denied it - was responsible for a vulnerability that seriously compromised several VB forums a year or so ago.

The "live new threads" doesn't really work, unsure if it's being called even if it's not employed.

FWIW, the forum loads fine for me 98% of the time. I get a VB database error 1% and a lag the other 1%.

I have loading errors every single day, and it is the slowest loading site that i visit daily but you get used to it

Daily database errors and extremely slow load times (toolbar and right sidebar)

Super super slow load times for me as well as database erros on every 5 or 6 visits.
