Is the forum EVER going to speed up???

I now rarely visit PAL (once a day at most) because everything is soooo excruciatingly slow...

Cmon techies...I visit over 10 forums now, not all poker related, etc...and nothing is nearly as slow as PAL.

Can't anyone figure it out?

Slow as in loading time? I don't find my load time slow. Traffic isn't slow here, PAL is growing rapidly.

It's hit n' miss on my end. Most of the time it runs smooth, but occassionally when it does run slow, it's really awful.

May be an issue related to the host rather than the site coding itself? Not sure. Maybe Mike can chime in

Speend is never a problem for me.

Weird...I know it is not on my end...unless it is something specific like a certain setting that only applies to what is on this forum...

It is like molasses for me most of the time...and ALL other forums are instant.

At home I can only get 128k speed for internet. It is not slow there, so I would have to say that it is you..

I find the speed varies, but its often on the slow side. Sometimes its a bit slow, other times its incredibly slow - like it took me over 1 minute to load up a thread earlier and I ended up just giving up waiting. If there's anything we the user can do please let us know.

Have you guys tried flushing your system cache?

Yeah this is definitely a server side issue - I've tested it on various systems and connections. Also the snow is still on the index and that should be removed as it can slow things down.

I don't think it is on my side, as it is the same way on my laptop with XP and on 2 other people's computers that I have tried it on.

Again - ALL OTHER FORUMS I USE (AvsForums, PAP, CAP, my own, 2+2, Fish Ontario, etc...) are all super fast. This one is not.

Not a caching issue either as I regularly clear cache and do maintenance on the comp with no change.

I mean Christ, I have a quad-core machine with 8GB RAM and Ultra-High Speed Internet!!

Oh well...
