Big Rakeback Site vs Network of Rakeback Mini Sites

I was doing some thinking and a little testing and my rakeback sites. My mini rakeback site outperforms my main rakeback site. So my question is...

Which is more profitable big rakeback site or network of mini rakeback sites?

Also for those of you that have both. Do you use your mini sites help your main site rank better in the search engines?

I don't know the answer, but it's a very interesting question. By rakeback mini-sites you mean ones devoted to a single room/network? I've seen them outrank the big sites sometimes.

This question is asked all the time.

In the short term mini sites can be profitable because they are easier to rank. You are targeting one keyword with an exact match domain name. It's not a lot of work to get rankings but the traffic potential is limited.

In the long term big sites are a heck of a lot more profitable. You can rank for stuff based on the authority of a big site. It's much easier to get natural links without asking for them, not to mention all the repeat visitors you will get from being a trusted source, etc.

There are pros and cons to both, I think most people do both.
