I addressed this in the PAS forum but I will cross-post my reply here.

    Example

RakebackRolls buys out RakeTracker and wants to merge its player base into his publisher account. However, there are multiple identical usernames on both RakeTracker & RakebackRolls publisher accounts. Poor Tim has RakeTracker AND RakebackRolls accounts with the username MadBaller. What is going to happen to member Tim?

You cant have two member accounts with the same username under the same publisher account, so how do we resolve this? The tech team manually looks at each account and makes a human decision based on what they think would be best. In this case the secondary duplicate username will likely have a 2 appended to it so that our member Tim ends up with 2 accounts, MadBaller and MadBaller_2.

There is no way to automate that process, as a wide variety of information could be duplicated across the publisher accounts you are purchasing. In each case a human being needs to spend time looking at what might be duplicated and make the appropriate changes. We are also responsible for contacting the individual members in each case and alerting them to the changes to their account information. Whenever we change the email address or username (potentially anything really) on a members account it will affect their ability to login.

I thought I would jump in here because as easy as it sounds to merge accounts and move things, it can cause major havoc on the admin side of things. So like Tflow said above, there are some issues that come up and must be sorted through.

Luckily Eric and his team considered moving players/accounts/domains to other partners this when we designed and programmed our new system. So we can handle this very easily (automated), but if not for having someone much smarter than me dealing with issues, we would have the same problems. :-)

Great work man. Next time I look to buy some sites I will look towards buying EAS websites.

Sweet, 5 minutes isn't bad. It takes PAS a week.
