I think content that converts and building links to that content is where the money should be spent. But be aware it's not a get rich quick scheme. You can't just throw $1000 at something and expect to start making $100/day overnight. SEO, link building and brand building all require regular work and investment of time and money, that in the medium to long term can make you a good living when done correctly.
