Question UB & AP rakeback affiliate deal

Hi guys! I'm new to here and first off I'd like to ask you about one thing concerning AP & UB.

I been talking with their affiliate manager for around half a night about their affiliate rakeback offer.

    So here is the thing.

They offer 25% Rev.Shave to kick off but meanwhile if I give 30% rakeback to my players the following situation goes on:

Lets imagine that a player generated $10k and gets 30% like $3000 and my commission is 25%, so I go -$500

They say that I better give a lower rakeback % but for Chrissake, I never saw a poker web site offering like 20-25% rb to players on AP & UB.

How do you guys get away with that?

    Or am I misunderstanding something?

    Thanks in advance.

Your understanding is correct - this is an issue that all prospective rakeback affiliates have to face at the start.

Short-term your best bet is to go with a 3rd party such as PAS or Rakeupdate (my understanding is that rakeupdate give better % for these sites but do your own research)... these services will allow you to give the max rates + access to rake-races / freerolls etc. You can find information on these services here at PAL.

Once you have an established track record you can reassess / negotiate with the rooms etc.

    Best of luck with it.

Thanks Mark, but the thing is that I'm running my own rakeback website and I have programmers and designers that create it. I'm not really up to using PAS, I don't know, i just don't like this service. I'd better have my own that I like and when it's done the way I want, If you know what I mean. And this is basically the main reason why I will most likely refuse to deal with UB & AP and replace these rooms with others. What's the point of losing profit?

Yes I would recommend sites like PAS also...Besides the advantages of rake races, freerolls and best rake rates for your players, they also handle player support
So you actully dont have to worry about nothing else than getting players to your PAS-site once it set up!

    Sorry ..misspell..its PAS.

Regarding design. You can pretty easy make your own design, using the PAS templates...One major advantage as I said above is player support and that PAS and sites like them handle player payouts...so you dont have to worry about that.

Lets say you do this yourself..then you have a big problem when your for exsample want to go on a 2 week vacation to Thailand...Players keep writing to you.."are my tracker correctly set up", "when is UB payment going to be paid out", "youre stats is wrong, I raked for fare more than $33 last Sunday account to my tracker-program"....You have to deal with these kind of questions often..and players dont like if they have to wait 3-4 days for answers

Go with PAS and you are absolutely fine. Their support is sup-par.

In case you're one of those affiliates that don't make a dime, why not play some free poker on my website PokerForFree.org. I am always on the hunt for new members, and if you contact me and mention PAL, I'll be more than happy to increase your initial bankroll a bit

yeah, this could be something inconvenient. But the thing is that my website is half done already and theres no use of stopping the process. Anyways I have an account at PAS and its just like this

Maybe I'll leave it like a second variant or something. Anyways, thanks for explanations.

Why do you have to stop your design?

You do know PAS match your design free the first time?

This means you could simply create a sub-domain then have PAS match your sites design so that your rakeback section is the same and everything matches.

That's why I hate rakeback. If you have many big players, it can pay off big, but if you are a small or medium-size affiliate, it is a losing proposition, IMO.
