Thank you man. If you don't mind, would you answer the questions? I like to have a understanding of different views on how to go about this business.

    My fault, sorry for derailing.

You still go on the pire though if it all goes up in flames JD

Seriously though, i would suggest that you have to go at least down the PAS route as starting from scratch is not an option if you are looking for success.

You will certainly need to find other avenues other than the search engines for success, however, do not let this lead you towards illegal deals as that's a road to nowhere.

Guy i know started just a few months back as a rakeback affiliate with no experience whatsoever, he is now earning a good wack, he managed this by being a nice guy that plays live at many different venues.

The conversion rate in rakeback is shit, the value is low, however, a good point to note is that the players are generally in it for the long term and as such your income should gradually grow. My graph for the last 2 months is like a sheer cliff face upwards.

I would also suggest that a great idea is to run from your own domain and a sub domain through PAS, that way you can add some of your own deals that you may secure as time goes on.

Add a few of the smaller rooms with some decent offers in direct deals that are not available on PAS. Run a loyalty site alongside to gain players that are looking for non rakeback rooms and try to come up with things that are not out there now.

Now this sounds like a ton of fun. Sadly, I killed my live poker bankroll a few days ago. (Im not much of a limit holdem player)

Also, how would I go about explaining online poker and rakeback?

He has business cards, a shirt with his logos and url on it.

He also has a very nice disposition and befriends everyone.

People come to him to chat and the conversation develops

The face to face bit gains his trust

Also he is a tourney player rather than a cash player so table convos also come in to it.

Sounds like my style of marketing. I am a very funny person. (Even though I don't look like it) I will have to go over the cost but this sounds like it can be very profitable.

Just to jump in KushMoney, i'd have a word with Rakeback Engine as well. Good guys there, customized site design, top %s etc. Definitely worth investigating.

Funnily enough, I'm actually considering a move away from rakeback. I've had 6 months of very good signup numbers but the value of the average player is abysmal. I actually think changing to CPAs may be a better long term idea.
Buying all kinds of sites - poker/casino/sports/non gaming. Large budget. PM me with what you've got.

lol, too late. I already bought the domain, set up PAS sub-domain on it and made the homepage. Im thinking over the design before I contact PAS to design the sub-domain to match the top domain. About to contact my logo designer once I decide on the colors.

What in your opinion are the main reasons why going direct with rooms over using PAS would be unsuccessful? Not trying to cause a rift, I'm genuinely interested as it seems as though the popular belief is that the sub-affiliate route is the only option for rakeback affiliating right now.

Is it mainly because of the added incentives like rake races and freerolls?

I think most people go with PAS because its a lot easier to get started and it saves time.
