I see a # displayed in all of my analytics, but the actual search at yahoo shows nothing for most sites. Huge sites like cnn.com are still showing some links for me.

Yahoo! has begun testing bing search results. It's been reported that people are seeing different things in Yahoo!, although they have not published either a firm date for the transition or a clear explanation of what will happen with Site Explorer.
However, Google recently expanded its backlink reports in Webmaster Tools. You won't get a lot of benefit from knowing how many links you have but you'll at least be able to tell if Google is crawling your links for a new site if the backlink data increases over time.

Bump, curious what others are seeing and if this is changing. I still see backlinks numbers in my analytics displays, no backlinks showing in actual yahoo backlink search when using firefox, can see backlinks in IE when I do the yahoo search.

As I understand it, the Yahoo! testing is on a random basis. Search engines often do this (it's technically a form of cloaking or IP-based delivery). This is a generally accepted practice for usability testing.
People still don't seem to know when the full switchover will occur.
